Family of beaten model demands boyfriend be held in custody
Angelika Tartanova«s sister described the model»s current state and the family«s efforts to raise funds for her rehabilitation.
The sister of 33-year-old model Angelika Tartanova, who lost half of her skull after a brutal beating in Moscow, told MSK1.RU details about the case against the attacker and shared information about the woman«s condition.
Earlier in Moscow, 40-year-old Dmitry Kuzmin was detained, accused of inflicting grievous bodily harm on Angelika Tartanova. According to investigators, the man hit her on the head during an argument in an apartment. The woman was taken by ambulance to a hospital, where she was diagnosed with memory loss even though she gave her name. After that, Angelika fell into a coma.
For some reason, the court sent Dmitry Kuzmin, accused of attacking the model, not to a pre-trial detention center (SIZO) but to house arrest. Angelika«s sister reported that after appearing on the show »Let Them Talk« on Channel One, the decision regarding the attacker should change.
«The police are dealing with him. There will be no house arrest soon,» Anastasia, Angelika«s sister, told MSK1.RU. »People are helping us, lawyers are helping us. And we are now doing everything to ensure that the person is punished. The investigation is ongoing. [Angelika«s] condition is stable. We are trying to restore her memory. She now needs very serious rehabilitation help. Her quota, under which she was in the hospital, is ending.»
According to the model«s sister, relatives have turned to a foundation to raise the necessary funds for treatment.
«It»s important for us that the person continues treatment. I can«t leave because of this — I have children at home too. I»m sitting here because I can«t place my sister,» explained Anastasia. «The fact is that the day after tomorrow, the person is being discharged home. By tomorrow evening we need to raise a certain amount of money to keep her for at least two weeks. The price tag there is, of course, astronomical. We cannot do it on our own because we have no parents, no one. We cannot handle such sums ourselves.»
As the victim«s sisters said during the program, in Krasnodar, where she is from, the model has a child. He is 16 years old and lives with his mother-in-law. Before moving to Moscow, the teenager lived with Angelika, but she decided to leave him with his grandmother so the boy would not be stressed by the long journey.
«The son hasn»t come, of course. He is studying. Why travel so many kilometers here? He is worried, of course. Mom will recover and they will meet,« Anastasia shared with MSK1.RU.
