Driver Who Hit Traffic Inspector Arrested
On January 22, the Primorsky District Court of St. Petersburg ordered the detention of 38-year-old Vladislav Fadeev. He will be held in a pre-trial detention center until March 19, as requested by investigators with prosecutorial support.
Fadeev is charged with using violence dangerous to life and health against a government representative. Despite having his driver«s license revoked, he drove a Haval Dargo on the morning of January 20.
On Planernaya Street, the car caught the attention of traffic patrol, prompting a chase when he tried to flee. During the pursuit, Fadeev turned his vehicle and struck a traffic inspector, pinning him against a parked car. The officer suffered a chest contusion.
Firearms were used during the driver«s arrest, and video footage shows him abandoning the car and attempting to escape. He was stopped by a janitor who tripped him while continuing to clear snow.
