Belarusian Woman Sold for Organs and Body Burned

A tourist from Belarus was sold for her organs in Myanmar. Then her body was burned. This is reported by Telegram channels SHOT and Mash.

According to them, the girl came to Thailand to work as a model. However, instead of an interview, she was taken to Myanmar, where she was made a slave and forced to work in a scam center. These are notorious places where girls are forced to scam foreigners out of money online.

However, the former tourist apparently was not good at «working» as a fraudster—she did not bring her owners enough money. Contact with her was lost on 4 October (she flew to Myanmar, as reported by Belta (Belarusian Telegraph Agency), on 20 September). Later it became known that she was literally dismembered for her organs.

«First, they demanded $500,000 from her relatives for her body, and a few days later they said that the deceased had been cremated. Now the family is negotiating the return of the ashes to her homeland,» writes Mash.

The girl was named Vera, she was 26 years old. From her social media, it is clear that the girl was surrounded by friends and loving relatives. Recently, her father wrote in her comments: “Daughter, hello. I love you. Everything will work out for you.” Vera replied: “Thank you, Dad.”

«This trip to Thailand was not Vera’s first. She often traveled, had been to China, Vietnam, Bali. The media wrote that in 2017, the Minsk native participated in the show “The Voice”—but no. She once performed at a Minsk club against the backdrop of a banner for a local burlesque festival styled after “The Voice,”» writes Mash.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus (MFA) stated that it is ready to help the family obtain her remains. The relatives have not yet been able to resolve the issue on their own.
