Bashkortostan Residents Debate School Violence Causes

This week in Bashkortostan, two scandals that occurred in schools were in the spotlight. The first was the bullying of a third-grader who «joined an established group,» and the second was a fight between two female students in a toilet, witnessed by dozens of onlookers. Readers of UFA1.RU discussed: some say that children have become cruel, while others note that it has always been this way. We present their opinions.

The conflict in Ufa, where a third-grader has been bullied by classmates for two months, has attracted the attention of the prosecutor«s office. This happened after UFA1.RU»s publication.

According to one commenter, the problem should be sought at home.

“No matter what, everything comes from home, from the parents!” he wrote.

Another points out the cruelty of children and the lack of attention from parents.

“If we don«t deal with such people now, they»ll start demanding money, valuables, and intimidating later. This needs to be nipped in the bud. The «conflict of interests» (which the principal mentioned – ed.) is not true; the children found a victim and that«s it. The principal doesn»t want a scandal, so she«ll make things up and shift the blame. They missed the beginning – here»s the result,” stated a reader of our site.

In response, they say that in the 1990s, “the youth were neglected,” and then it took a long time to clean up the mess.

“Now the main thing is to punish in time, so as not to cry bitterly over their mischief later,” declared a commenter.

The school principal criticized the mother of the victimized child: supposedly, she saw that her son was being harassed, but instead of intervening, she just recorded what was happening on her phone. Readers disagree with this conclusion.

“What, was the mother supposed to touch the children with her hands? They would have filed a criminal case against her immediately. The only thing she could do was stand and protect the child from blows with her body,” says a reader.

He notes: one shouldn«t get into a fight and touch other people»s children, but one«s own should be protected, avoiding physical contact. Another user says that the mother started recording what was happening because in her previous appeals, the principal allegedly responded that “everything is fine and there are no problems.”

“It«s good that various services and organizations were gathered – there are already problems at the principal»s level if she thinks the child is at fault. You see, he responds arrogantly. And how should he? Lie on the floor so everyone can wipe their feet on him?” an Ufa resident exclaimed.

Another notes that the mother did everything right by recording how her son was being hit with a bag of change shoes – saying that in our time, you can«t prove anything otherwise.

Some believe that it would be appropriate to go to court.

“It«s okay with third-graders, but if 14-year-olds surrounded him, then the only thing left is to protect the child from blows with one»s body. Even if they tore off his clothes – stand, endure, the court will sort it out later and punish those who did it,” says another.

“You can extract moral compensation from the parents of the bullies (the kids who bully – ed.) through the court. If necessary, repeat the procedure,” noted a user.

Ufa residents criticized the school principal, including for the phrases “conflict of interests” and “the conflict will be resolved.” But there is also a comment in support of the leader.

“And the commentators themselves can«t write three lines correctly. The parents whose children beat a classmate should be punished and condemned. And in your view, the school is always to blame in any situation. Raise your offspring properly and work on your literacy,” wrote a user.

They also ask where the teacher was. But to another commenter, it seems that the children were playing more than fighting.

“But it still should have been stopped,” he stated.

The second story happened in Neftekamsk: the girls didn«t share something, gathered in the toilet, fought against the background of pink doors. Other female students watched what was happening with laughter, but then decided to separate the fighters. The ladies dispersed in silence.

“Yes, people always smoked and fought in school, it was the norm,” stated one of the users.

“Fights in schools have been and will be, it«s an integral part of society»s survival. Someone sets themselves up as stronger so that everyone fears them. Now everyone knows that jokes are bad with that girl in black,” stated the second.

Another believed that the principal should be fired, since after the incident he “went on a business trip.”

“And put you in charge? Will you immediately restore order and the students will become meek? Everything starts with the family, well-behaved children don«t act like that. The parents should be punished for such offspring,” replied another reader.
