Elevators in 275 apartment buildings in Omsk and the settlement of Rostovka are planned to be updated by the end of the year. According to the short-term implementation plan of the capital repair program approved by the Ministry of Energy and Housing and Utilities of Omsk Region, 930 elevators will be replaced.

The total cost of the work, funded by the capital repair fund, will be 3.08 billion rubles (about $33.9 million at current rates) — on average, 3.3 million rubles (about $36,300) per elevator. The most expensive site is building No. 18 on Krasny Put, where 18 elevators need replacement, requiring nearly 59.3 million rubles (about $652,300). The deadline for this work has been postponed for more than a year, and this building is not the only one on the list.

At 27 Krupskaya Street, 10 elevators need replacement; at 20 Khimikov Street and 91 Melnichnaya Street — 9 each; and at 107 10 Let Oktyabrya Street, 210 20 Let RKKA Street, 40 and 44 Bogdana Khmelnitskogo Street, 12/1 Dianova Street, 29 Lukashevicha Street, 13 Ordzhonikidze Street, 52 Poltoratskogo Street, and 90 Uchebnaya Street, 8 elevators need updating at each. All 275 addresses are listed in the document.

Recall that in 2026, the minimum contribution for capital repairs for residents of multi-story buildings with elevators increased from 12 rubles 76 kopecks to 15 rubles 30 kopecks per square meter. Residents of buildings without elevators will pay 13 rubles 27 kopecks.

Contributions for capital repairs are the only source of funding for the regional program of capital repairs of common property in apartment buildings. These funds are earmarked and are used to pay for such work as roof, facade, basement, and foundation repairs, as well as in-house engineering systems and elevator replacements, noted the press service of the regional operator.

As of January 1, 2026, the collection rate of contributions from buildings that accumulate money for capital repairs in a common account was 92.53%. Over the 12 years of the program, Omsk residents have paid 15.3 billion rubles (about $168.3 million) in bills. In 2026, the capital repair of 1,172 multi-story buildings in Omsk Region is estimated at 5 billion rubles (about $55 million).
