Omsk high-rise mold outbreak after week of unfixed pipe leak

Black mold spots cover walls in the building«s common areas due to persistent dampness from the leak.
A reader of NGS55.RU complained about the condition of a building in the Neftyaniki district. According to a local resident, a hot water pipe has been leaking for a week in the building at 28a Mira Avenue.
The resident«s mother lives in this apartment building, which is affected by the ongoing leak and mold growth.
Due to constant moisture in the entrance and apartments, mold has appeared. As the Omsk resident claims, the management company refuses to carry out repairs, citing frost. And every summer, pipes are burst here to repair them, but it doesn«t help.
«The only thing they do is send a machine that pumps water out of the basement once a day. My mother lives there, and according to her, they have appealed to the State Housing Inspectorate».
The key problem is the flooded basement. Because of it, mold has already appeared on the floors.
«The main problem is that the management company has been responding for a week: «Until it»s minus 20 degrees Celsius (-4°F), we can«t do anything.» All this time, water is accumulating in the basement, and in the entrance on all floors, mold has appeared — black dots on the walls».
[Updated at 17:27] In «Teplovaya Kompaniya» (the Heat Company), they said that repair work on the pipeline is planned at the network section at the address.
Earlier, NGS55.RU reported on why frequent bursts occur on heating networks in Omsk.
