Winter Perivalovo seems quiet and cozy. Fluffy snow has covered the main problem of the village, where over a thousand identical houses were built and sold in just a few years. One of them was purchased 4.5 years ago by the Konobritsky couple from Surgut.

The couple decided to move to be closer to their children without lengthy deliberation.

— It all happened quite spontaneously. Our in-laws bought a house here, and we came just to see what it was like. In general, we liked it. A village, quiet, peaceful. At that time, it was much quieter here because there were far fewer houses around, — recall the residents of Perivalovo.

The northerners immediately noticed that the new subdivision has very narrow roads. Sergei recalls that for this reason, he and his wife set their sights on the demonstration house, which stands on the corner near the exit. If they had been offered to buy a home somewhere deeper inside, they would not have made the deal.

Klevernaya Street was among the first built, with narrower passageways than later sections.

— On one hand, we«re glad we bought a house here because, even living in the North, we didn»t earn the same 15 million rubles (about $150,000 at current rates) for a country cottage. But on the other hand, the builder of these houses created problems that are now impossible to solve. Of course, the streets should have been made wider, but then his profits would have been less, — shares her thoughts Margarita Konobritskaya.

Homeowners admit they could use a couple more hundred square meters of land.

— Two cars barely pass each other. Even pushing snow out of the yard — there«s no place to put it. We have to take it away immediately on a cart. It»s also a shame that you can«t leave a car near the house even for a short time, — adds Sergei Konobritsky.

Over almost five years of living in Perivalovo, the couple managed to add a veranda to their house. And on their small plot of about six hundred square meters, a sauna, garage, and greenhouse appeared.

— Overall, we«re satisfied, but of course there are problems. We lack a grocery store within walking distance, and playgrounds for children and sports. When we moved here, there were only four pupils, but now two school buses are filled to capacity, — a local resident talks about the issues.

To live comfortably in this new subdivision, you need a car. The couple says that they even have to take out the trash by car. Within the boundaries of the uniform development itself, there are no containers, and they are unlikely to appear soon because there is simply no free space for their installation.

— We take out our own trash and also pick up trash from relatives because they don«t have a car, and the bins are very far away. Personally, we take the trash by car to old Perivalovo; it»s more convenient for us to get there. And some careless fellows here throw their trash right into the nearest forest, — complains Sergei Konobritsky.

There are no prolonged power outages in Perivalovo now, but in the mornings, evenings, and on weekends, when most residents are at home, the voltage noticeably drops. Because of this, household appliances break down and problems arise with gas equipment.

— Our house is near the energy source, so our voltage usually doesn«t drop below 200 volts, but our in-laws, who live farther away, sometimes have even 180. Our refrigerator and TV are connected through stabilizers, and the rest of the equipment directly. Recently, a microwave oven burned out, — says Sergei Konobritsky, a resident of a house on Klevernaya Street.

They complain, but do nothing themselves

In one of the Linear Driveways, we managed to talk with two more local residents. Pavel Chobanov, while clearing snow near his house, admitted that he is quite satisfied with his country life in new Perivalovo.

— We sold an apartment in Tyumen and have been living here for the fourth winter. We haven«t been without power completely. We set up large generators and started them. The maximum outage was 10 hours; in the city, sometimes there»s no hot water for three months. We like it, — assures Pavel.

Pavel believes that instead of complaining, people should take action and do something themselves. As an example, he cites a recent initiative that several of his neighbors supported immediately.

Residents chipped in to set up a fir tree on a free plot near their homes.

— Four of us chipped in, bought road base for 38,000 rubles (about $380 at current rates), and filled in a section of the road for ourselves. At our entrance, everything was just pressed down — and there was a big pothole, — tells Pavel Chobanov.

Pavel works as a long-haul truck driver, but lately he hasn«t had to leave his family for long periods. The enterprising resident bought a tanker and started pumping out neighbors» septic tanks. His wife also found work near home: she got a job as a teacher at a kindergarten located in the old part of Perivalovo village.

— When we first moved here, I was the only one on the whole street, but now all the houses are occupied, we all communicate, children are friends. I asphalted an area near my house, and you can«t imagine how many children gather here on weekends. We don»t have playgrounds for children, and they all play on our asphalt, — describes Pavel his country life.

Opposite Pavel Chobanov lives Denis Vaganov. He bought this country house as an alternative to a dacha and also doesn«t regret his decision.

— I don«t live here permanently. We do need roads, of course. We chip in and add gravel where it»s really bad. But for a budget option, it«s okay. We didn»t pay 15 million for the house, — tells about his decision to buy a house in Perivalovo Denis Vaganov.

Problems with connecting houses to electricity are in the past. Now, gas workers are working on the streets of the new subdivision. The long-awaited yellow pipes should eventually reduce electricity consumption.

However, the issues of lacking children«s and sports playgrounds are unlikely to be resolved so quickly. By building identical houses over a large area, entrepreneur Stanislav Borisov simply left no free spaces for them. For the same reason, on the numerous streets with identical houses, there are no areas for solid waste, stops for school and public transport, or grocery stores.

Even the fir tree, which our heroes together with neighbors installed on a free area between Klevernaya and Vasilkovaya streets, stands on someone«s land. They use it for celebrations until the owner fences off his plot.

Recall that in the history of the long-suffering Perivalovo, we examined in detail here. Many violations were found in the village, and the problem reached the governor and the head of the Investigative Committee, Bastrykin. Not only the developer, against whom a criminal case was initiated, but also officials will answer for the violations committed.
