Authorities Cite Overloaded Networks for Omsk Heating Outages

In November of last year, Governor Vitaly Khotsenko stated that the region was fully ready for the heating season for the first time since 2013. All districts received readiness certificates. Despite this, with the frosts came mass utility failures to the city. Many were left without heat and hot water, freezing in their apartments. This situation, of course, outraged residents.
«And what about the readiness certificate for the heating season? Is the president aware that it was fake?» asked Omsk resident Alexey in comments under one of the posts on the regional head«s page.
The city administration responded to his message. They explained that bursts occur due to increased load on the heating networks during frosts.
«Unfortunately, despite the city»s readiness for the heating season, under conditions of particularly low outdoor temperatures and environmental impact, as well as increased parameters of heat supply to homes, the networks may not withstand the load. Resource-supplying organizations respond promptly and resolve the issue of resource supply in the shortest possible time.«
