Yaroslavl Region Plans New Psychiatric Hospital Building

Authorities in Yaroslavl Region are planning the construction of a new building for the regional psychiatric hospital. The facility will be located outside the city of Yaroslavl.

The regional Ministry of Health clarified:

Currently, the possibility of building a new wing at the address: Yaroslavl Region, Yaroslavl Municipal District, village of Spasskoye, house 29 — on the territory of the existing land plot of the psychiatric hospital is being considered. The project documentation is being revised due to the change in the facility«s location address and new construction conditions.

The need for a new building was first discussed in the regional government back in 2024. Governor Mikhail Evrayev noted:

Patients are admitted in ten old buildings, two of which are in a suburban area. The issues have already been worked out at the level of the Russian Ministry of Health.

Initially, the wing, designed for 312 beds, was supposed to be located on Zagorodny Sad Street in Yaroslavl, but the site was changed.

It is expected that the project will be implemented with federal funding.
