Patients in the neurology department of Clinical Hospital No. 15 in the Krasnoarmeysky District have stated that medical staff are forcing them to contribute money for vital medications, bandages, and materials for infusion therapy. A relative of one patient, who wished to remain anonymous, said the situation has been ongoing for at least four days.

«We were informed that the drip sets were running out and that we would soon need to buy more at our own expense,» the Volgograd resident said. «Also, yesterday my mother asked a nurse to bandage her arm after a drip, as she had a lump there—also thanks to the medical staff who «excellently» know how to do them. Her arms are all bruised from the drips. She asked for a bandage and iodine—there was no iodine in the hospital, no bandage either. They made a bandage with some «piece» of cloth and sent her back to the room.»

In the hospital, according to the woman, they are asked to purchase supplies such as sterile bandages, gauze pads, saline solution, and intravenous infusion systems at their own expense.

The woman contacted the deputy chief physician for medical affairs (the editorial board has the correspondence), but failed to resolve the issue:

«The situation in the private correspondence ended in nothing. For emergency and urgent medical care, according to her, everything necessary is available, but people lying in the departments continue to buy everything at their own expense. They ask for the patient«s data, which I will not provide, because the problem is not only with our patient—the entire hospital has this problem. I also contacted the head of the polyclinic, who also requested the patient»s data, which was refused, to which I was told: «Complain, do what you want, goodbye.»»

The V1.RU editorial board requested the regional health committee to comment on the situation at Clinical Hospital for Emergency Medical Care (KBSMP) No. 15, but had not received a response by the time of publication.
