A 65-year-old pensioner with a decomposing finger was miraculously saved by doctors in Volgograd. Vladimir Afanasyevich confessed that preserving the finger and preventing serious complications was possible thanks to the medics at Regional Clinical Hospital No. 3.
Recall that Vladimir Afanasyevich has diabetes. After lengthy wanderings between hospitals and clinics, the man turned to the «Obkomovskaya» hospital. According to his wife, getting him hospitalized and operated on was only possible after the intervention of one of the surgeons.
«The surgeon looked at the finger and was horrified. He said he needed to be hospitalized,» the woman said. «Then everything happened very quickly. They took tests, performed an examination, and operated immediately. I am grateful to the surgeon who took responsibility upon himself. Despite being refused and prohibited, he saw the situation and understood… That was also a brave act.»
After several operations and examinations, Vladimir Afanasyevich was discharged and is now at home. As the pensioner«s son told V1.RU, »the saga has ended.«
«I am very grateful to the doctors. They fought for me to the last. Apart from kindness, help, and concrete actions, I saw and heard nothing else from them. From the bottom of my heart — a heartfelt thank you to the entire surgical department, the doctors, the nurses. I am very grateful to the first surgeon who operated on me. Then I was treated by the head of the department himself, Ivanchenko Sergey Vladimirovich. A tactful, attentive man and a professional in his field,» Vladimir Afanasyevich confessed. «They held consultations several times, deciding what to do with me. I»m not a doctor, not a professional in this matter, but I understand the amount of work they had to do.«
