Norilsk schoolboy's drug addiction began at 12, led to overdose by 15
19-year-old Daniil from Norilsk began using alcohol and drugs at age 12 — first gasoline and alcoholic beverages, then pharmaceutical drugs and «synthetic» substances. Once, standing on the windowsill of the ninth floor, he realized he no longer controlled his life.
Daniil grew up in an ordinary family, where the only parent was absorbed in work to feed two children. The notorious teenage loneliness and desire to «impress girls» quickly turned into a craving for experimentation.
“I was enveloped by a euphoric curtain that kept trying to convince me that everything was still okay. You«re studying, you»re working now and then, you have an expensive phone, headphones, a computer, you«re into music, you have everything in order. But in the process, when synthetic drugs came into play, like alpha-PVP, mephedrone, something subconscious started telling me that I was dying,” recalls Daniil.
The mundane way this story unfolded demonstrates that this could happen in any family. Watch the full story of the child who, by age 19, had survived three overdoses and is now in rehabilitation in our video.
