The boy from Krasnogorsk, who had his fingers torn off by a booby-trapped banknote, is recovering. Recently, doctors released him from the hospital for one evening — 9-year-old Sasha (name changed due to Russian legal requirements — Ed.) really wanted to go to a play. Children«s ombudsman Ksenia Mishonova reported this in her Telegram channel.

»When I visited him in the hospital, I found out that the boy really loves folk songs. He sings himself. And in general, he is a great patriot of our country and our President. Gleb turned out to be an even bigger fan of Nadezhda Babkina«s folk song theater,» Mishonova said.

The ombudsman contacted Nadezhda Babkina, and she recorded a video message with an invitation to her theater. According to Mishonova, Sasha dreamed of attending the play «Quiet Don». For this occasion, the hospital even released him and his mother for one evening.

The ombudsman facilitated the boy«s special outing to see a folk song performance.

At the theater, Sasha was able to meet with Nadezhda Babkina, who invited the boy and his mother backstage and to the dressing room. According to Mishonova, he was delighted with the production. Sasha is expected to be discharged from the hospital soon.

Recall that the incident occurred on November 11 in Krasnogorsk, Moscow Region. On his way to training, the boy picked up a gift package with a 10-ruble banknote (about $0.14 at current rates) — inside was a homemade explosive device. The boy with bloody hands was hospitalized.

Investigators initiated a criminal case for attempted murder (Part 3 Art. 30 p. «e» Part 2 Art. 105 of the Russian Criminal Code). Children«s ombudsman of the Moscow Region Ksenia Mishonova urged parents to have a conversation with their children and warn them not to pick up anything from the ground on the street.
