Clinic queue lands Volgograd cancer patient in ICU
The relative of a well-known Volgograd collector and defender of historical values, Sergei Ostrovsky, ended up in intensive care after spending several hours in a queue at Clinic No. 5 in the Kirovsky District. The man believes that the long wait for a medical worker provoked the deterioration of his wife«s mother»s health.
«She was receiving heavy chemotherapy, sat for several hours in Clinic No. 5,» Mr. Ostrovsky exclaims. «To my question of why she didn»t call me, she said she was afraid of punishment from ordinary doctors. Now she is lying in intensive care with severe pneumonia, I brought her from the «Tsaritsyn Opera» theater with fanfare to Hospital No. 25, where they barely resuscitated her. We suspect that she contracted pneumonia precisely in that stuffy queue. What the hell, receiving treatment at the oncology center, receiving chemotherapy at her place of residence, does she have to go to a therapist for a referral to an oncologist, and then sit in a queue to a narrow specialist for a prescription for chemotherapy? This is a mechanism to quickly send cancer patients to the other world. She lost precious hours of her life that she could have spent with her four little grandchildren! We lost a huge amount of time in these queues!«
Recall that earlier, residents of Volgograd complained about queues at Clinic No. 5, reporting that they could not see a doctor for several hours. The head doctor of the medical institution, Olga Korsakova, in a conversation with a V1.RU correspondent, stated that one of the doctors fell ill and indeed stopped seeing patients.
«It»s just an epidemic. The doctor also fell ill, so now we are distributing patients to other doctors to close sick leave certificates. In the second shift, two doctors will see patients. Monday, it just happened,« the doctor said.
Later, the health committee of the Volgograd region clarified that three therapists are working in the clinic at once.
«According to the medical organization, currently two therapists are seeing patients and one is closing disability sheets. Additionally, we note that a change of specialists is possible according to the work schedule.»
