Andrey Arshavin«s ex-wife described how she lost her nose due to a beauty injection and was brought to the brink of life and death. The cosmetic procedure turned into a real tragedy for the young woman, who was already struggling with her divorce from the athlete.

At first, the whole country followed the development of the passionate romance between the Russian football star and the journalist, and then their high-profile divorce. After the failed relationship, Alisa decided to focus on herself and transform. She turned to a cosmetologist, but ended up with an inexperienced specialist. As a result, the beauty injection led to a serious infection and necrosis of the nose.

— What was injected there, what kind of infection could have been introduced? But since I was going through a very difficult stage in my life related to the divorce, there was also immense stress piled on. And my body just couldn«t cope, — Alisa said on the show »What Have I Done«. — I»m 100% to blame: one shouldn«t get carried away with injections, fillers, and threads, especially in the nose area where there are a lot of cartilages. As a result, I developed staphylococcus, necrotic processes where tissues were dying and cartilages were dissolving.

The girl admitted that on that ill-fated day, she wanted to inject fillers to make her nose straighter. Such manipulation in the «triangle of death» (as doctors call the part of the face from the upper lip to the root of the nose) is considered dangerous, but some cosmetologists still perform it without thinking about the possible consequences.

On the show, doctors explained the seriousness of the procedure: if the specialist is careless, the client can experience instant blindness right during the injection.

— When I realized that something was wrong with my nose, it was too late. It changed over the course of three to five months. It shrank, swelled, the edema increased and decreased. And there was a constant temperature — 37.2°C (99°F). When I felt really bad and had no strength, I looked up and saw black tar coming from my nose, — recalls Alisa Arshavina.

The surgeon who first operated on the girl admitted that Alisa could have died.

When the girl woke up in the hospital room after the operation, half of her nose was already gone. Doctors refused to restore that part of the body immediately, understanding that it would lead to nothing: there was no bone.

Plastic surgeons one after another refused to help Alisa Arshavina; each consultation with doctors left a mark on the moral state of the girl, who had lost her former beauty.

Alisa said on the show that she developed severe depression: she not only couldn«t look in the mirror, but even couldn»t get out of bed or turn on her side.

Only when surgeon Denis Agapov found a suitable solution for the difficult patient did Alisa«s recovery process begin. Over three years, the girl underwent ten extremely complex operations. And as the doctor himself admits on the show, it wasn»t always easy for her, since the result isn«t instant, and it»s impossible to immediately assess what«s happening to the face.

Alisa told how she learned to live again — not only with her new appearance, but also without the support of a loved one. She began to take example from her children, who «just lived» and enjoyed each day.

The girl was already ready to accept her disfigured face, but the doctor did what seemed impossible. Using a unique method, he restored Alisa«s nose. The result was so astonishing that some doctors doubted that the girl had her own nose, not a prosthetic one.
