Yaroslavl Residents Complain About Persistent Garbage Piles in Yards

Residents of Yaroslavl complained about piles of garbage in their yards. The dump was noticed in the Dzerzhinsky and Krasnoperekopsky districts, specifically at Babicha Street, 17k3 and Gagarin Street, 41.

A reader of 76.ru reported to the editorial office that the garbage at Babicha, 17k3 has not been removed since January 10. A Yaroslavl resident submitted a request to the Unified Dispatch Service on January 13, but the issue was not resolved.

Waste removal in the city, including the container site at Babicha Street, 17k3, as explained by the Dzerzhinsky District Administration, is carried out by the unified regional waste management operator – LLC «Khartiya».

According to information from Maria Sachkova, Minister of Tariff Regulation of the Yaroslavl Region, 2026 is the last year of «Khartiya»s« operation, and in 2027 a new regional waste management operator will appear.

«During an inspection of the aforementioned territory by administration employees on January 20, it was established that the waste has been removed,» responded the press service of the city hall.

About the condition of the garbage site at Gagarin, 41, Yaroslavl residents reported not only to the editorial office of 76.ru but also on social media.

«Year after year, the garbage site opposite »Russkaya Okhota« (Russian Hunting) on Neftestroi is in this state. In spring, they pile up black bags with leaves or cut-down trees, and in winter, here»s this chaos. We write about it year after year!« shared a reader of 76.ru.

In the comments, the city hall responded to citizens« complaints.

«The territorial administration has submitted a request for garbage removal at the specified address,» commented the press service.

According to the city hall, in case of problems with garbage removal in yards, residents can contact the unified dispatch contact center of LLC «Khartiya» at phone numbers: 8 (4852) 233-800 or 8 (4852) 207-202, as well as the unified duty dispatch service at number: 8 (4852) 40-40-40.

At the end of December 2025, Yaroslavl authorities reported an increase in the garbage removal tariff until 2032. According to calculations, the amount will increase by 15% annually. This is due to the modernization of the waste management sector in the region and the construction of a new waste sorting landfill with a disposal complex.
