Voronezh Bridge to Be Closed for Five Days

The Voronezh city hall is warning drivers that traffic on the exit from the Severny Bridge towards 25 January Street will be closed for five days. The restrictions will last from 08:00 on Saturday, January 31, to 20:00 on Wednesday, February 4. The administration explained the need for such measures due to ongoing reconstruction work at the Ostuzhevskaya interchange.

Previously, the road management department reported that during the same period, a section of the Ostuzheva Street duplicate was planned to be closed — near the intersection with 25 January Street. However, this idea was ultimately abandoned — the work plan was adjusted due to weather. That is, the Ostuzheva Street duplicate will remain open for traffic.

The reconstruction of the interchange has been ongoing since 2021. Last November, the second part of the overpass was opened; Mayor Sergei Petrin then said that the road is 55% complete, and everything should be finished by November 2026. According to the mayor, an underground pedestrian crossing needs to be built, utilities reconstructed, and other work carried out, and traffic will still be adjusted.
