In Volgograd, «Water Supply Concessions» LLC announced two electronic auctions for the design and construction of two phases of the water supply system in the Kirovsky and Sovetsky districts. Initially, the purchases were conducted by the municipal unitary enterprise «City Water Canal of Volgograd», and «Water Supply Concessions», which won both lots, is now looking for subcontractors to spend the budget funds.

Recall that last autumn, the municipal unitary enterprise «City Water Canal of Volgograd», acting as the customer for the works, planned to spend nearly 1.7 billion rubles (about $18.9 million at current rates) on the design and construction of the water supply system for the Sovetsky and Kirovsky districts. According to the documentation terms, an advance payment of 50% for both phases was promised to be paid by the end of 2025.

Both purchases were won by «Water Supply Concessions» LLC, which agreed to spend 646 million rubles (about $7.2 million) on the first phase of the networks and nearly 660 million rubles (about $7.3 million) on the second phase. Now, apparently deciding to pass the works to others, «Water Supply Concessions» has started looking for subcontractors by announcing auctions to spend the budget funds.

The first phase is scheduled until December 1, 2027. During this time, contractors must design and build main water pipelines:

  • a water pipeline along 64th Army Street and Universitetsky Prospekt, 1.8 kilometers long from building No. 135 on 64th Army Street to the «Gornaya Polyana» pumping station;

  • the «Gornaya Polyana-3» pumping station and communications 250 meters long;

  • a water main along Tyulenina, Solnechnikova, and Tormosinovskaya streets from Kursekova Street to Universitetsky Prospekt, 4.3 kilometers long.

In the second phase, until December 1, 2027, subcontractors must design and build:

  • water supply networks along Stepykina and Slesarnaya streets, 2.1 kilometers long from the water main on 64th Army Street to the residential area on Slesarnaya;

  • a water main 2.8 kilometers long from the section on Nebesnaya Street to Zvonkaya Street;

  • a ring water main 14.5 kilometers long along the new residential complex on the site of the former Radio Center on Kazakhskaya Street from Khimina Street.

Recently, by the way, residents of the two districts where the expensive renovation is planned were partially left without hot and cold water without warning for almost a day. Utility workers then cited sludge interfering with water intake pumps from the Volga River.
