Volgograd Changes Alimony Accounting for Unified Benefit

From the beginning of spring in Volgograd, as across Russia, the government has changed the rules for accounting alimony in family income when assigning the unified benefit. Until March 1, they were accounted for either in the actual amount received or depending on the minimum wage.
As reported by the press service of the Pension and Social Insurance Fund branch in Volgograd region, the changes will take effect from March 1:
«Instead of the usual child support payment amounts of 1/2, 1/3, or 1/4 of the minimum wage, after March 1 the monthly alimony payment will be calculated based on 1/2, 1/3, or 1/4 of the average monthly nominal accrued wage of employees in organizations across the economy in Volgograd region, if the applicant resides there,» clarified the fund«s press service.
The average monthly nominal accrued wage of employees in organizations will be determined based on official statistical information formed by Rosstat from final annual data for the year preceding the year of application for the unified benefit, or for the year before the year preceding the year of application, if such official statistical information for the preceding year is absent.
Official statistical information will be applied starting from the 1st day of the month following the month of official publication of such data.
«That is, in 2026, the average monthly nominal accrued wage of employees in the region»s organizations will be determined based on the results of 2025 after official publication by Rosstat from the next month,« the fund reported. »In the absence of official data for 2025 by March 1, 2026, the average monthly nominal accrued wage will be accounted for based on the results of 2024 until the 1st day of the month following the month after official publication of information for 2025.«
