In the Volgograd region, starting March 1, as well as across the country, updated rules for accounting alimony when assigning the unified benefit have come into effect.

Previously, these payments were taken into account either based on the actually received amount or from the minimum wage.

The press service of the regional branch of the Social Fund of Russia (SFR) explained that now the basis for calculating alimony payments will be the average nominal accrued salary of employees in the region«s economy.

«Instead of the usual alimony amounts for children based on 1/2, 1/3, or 1/4 of the minimum wage, after March 1, the monthly alimony payment will be calculated based on 1/2, 1/3, or 1/4 of the average monthly nominal accrued salary of employees in organizations across the economy in the Volgograd region, if the applicant lives there,»
clarified the press service of the fund«s branch.

The value of the average monthly salary is determined based on official statistics from Rosstat for the year preceding the year of applying for the benefit. In the absence of such data, information from the previous year is used.

This statistical information is applied starting from the first day of the month following the month of its official publication.

For illustration: in 2026, the average salary based on the results of 2025 after its publication by Rosstat will be used. If by March 1, 2026, the data for 2025 have not yet been published, then indicators for 2024 will be used until the first day of the month after the publication of information for 2025.
