JSC Vodokanal plans to build a new water intake, water treatment facilities, and water node No. 5 in Yakutsk in 2026. More than 786 million rubles (approximately $7.86 million at current rates) will be allocated from the city budget for these purposes.

623.6 million rubles (approximately $6.24 million) will be spent on the water intake and treatment facilities, and 163.8 million rubles (approximately $1.64 million) on water node No. 5.

Moreover, the company plans to consider the possibility of introducing another discharge station in the city to prevent unauthorized dumping of sewage and improve the environmental situation. This was reported by «YASIA» quoting General Director Anatoly Kyrzhagasov. According to him, this requires a land plot and additional funding.

In December 2025, a driver of a KAMAZ sewage truck was caught dumping liquid household waste into the sewer network of Yakutsk.

This is not the first violation; despite the authorities opening additional discharge stations in the Avtodorozhny District and the Markha microdistrict, drivers continue to dump waste in unauthorized locations.
