St. Petersburg to Allow Correcting Parking Payment Errors

The city transport committee has prepared a draft of changes that will affect parking payments via the internet or SMS. According to the document, key parameters can be edited within the calendar day of payment.

The draft text states: «Before the end of the calendar day during which payment was made for placing a vehicle in a paid parking zone, it is possible to change the following parameters: the state registration number of the vehicle, the parking zone number, and the end time of the paid period for vehicle placement in the paid parking zone.»

Corrections are allowed only once. However, all data cannot be corrected simultaneously: if the vehicle number or parking zone is changed, the time cannot be altered, and vice versa. Also, the time cannot be edited if the parking session was ended early.

Earlier, the transport commission of the legislative assembly conceptually approved a bill from the «Yabloko» faction proposing similar changes. Deputies agreed that drivers should be given the opportunity to correct typos without automatic fines.
