Second blackout in a week hits Murmansk, residents outraged

In Murmansk and the closed town of Severomorsk, a repeated power outage occurred at some facilities on January 31.
The video shows the Leninsky District.
— «According to power engineers, damage to the protective cable has been detected on the line. An emergency team is already fixing the technical fault,» said Murmansk Region Governor Andrei Chibis.
The repeated blackouts have caused a new wave of indignation among locals. Here is what city residents report about the situation in Murmansk.
«Gagarina Street — not only is it dark, but the radiators are cold. And last night there was already no hot water.»
«Alexandrova Street, 30/1: there is light, but no heating or hot water. The light was restored half an hour ago.»
«At Sverdlova Street, 40/2, there is no hot water or heating.»
«Sverdlova Street is also without electricity, heating, and hot water.»
«Lobova Street, 27 — the same. No light, no heating, it got cold immediately. I»m worried that the radiators might freeze.«
«Can you at least return the heat? All the radiators are cold, and it»s minus 22 degrees Celsius (minus 8 degrees Fahrenheit) outside! And what, no rotation? Same old story!«
«In the Leninsky District, there has been no electricity, heating, or hot water since early morning… At least turn the heating and hot water back on.»
«Why are the same houses again without power for days, while others don»t feel the outages at all, with windows and lights shining happily? How tired we are of all this!«
«For the entire period of the power outage, there has been no current information. They talked about schedules, about rotation: which facilities would be disconnected, which reconnected, for how long — zero information. It»s impossible to get through to the MESK dispatch center: either busy or no answer.«
«There is no light in homes and on the streets at the border of the Leninsky and Oktyabrsky districts.»
Because of non-functioning appliances, people are hanging food out the window in bags.
Recall that part of Murmansk and Severomorsk were again left without light. Andrei Chibis reported on the causes of the repeated accident.
