On January 31, in Rostov-on-Don, a large icicle fell from the roof of an apartment building at 4/1 Kommunisticheskaya Street onto a pensioner walking along the path. The victim was immediately hospitalized.

Authorities confirm the incident took place in late January in the city.

The head of the Sovetsky District, Nikita Paremuzov, reported that the woman is under medical supervision and there is no threat to her life. The official personally visited her in the hospital.

«This morning I visited in the hospital a woman who was injured as a result of an icicle falling from the roof of an apartment building. There is no threat to her life or health, and doctors are providing all necessary assistance for a speedy recovery,» Paremuzov wrote in his Telegram channel.

He also noted that necessary work is being carried out regarding the management company servicing this building.

In the comments to the district head«s post, residents expressed mass dissatisfaction, pointing out that icicles are not being removed from many buildings, and sidewalks remain uncleared of ice. For such violations, management organizations face fines and even license revocation.
