Rostelecom Deploys Extra Crews to Murmansk and Severomorsk

Rostelecom is intensifying efforts to maintain communications in the Murmansk region: the company has sent additional emergency restoration crews to Murmansk and Severomorsk from other cities in the region.

— Currently, internet is available in all buildings with electricity supply. Rostelecom has taken additional measures to support both its own infrastructure and other communication operators, — the company said.

Recall that a state of emergency has been declared in the Murmansk region. The Murmansk Region Prosecutor«s Office has already launched an investigation due to mass power outages. A criminal case has been initiated. It was found that the fallen power line poles had been in service for almost 60 years.

Murmansk residents have been told where they can go to warm up and charge electronic devices. And city entrepreneurs are ready to provide food from their main menu at a discount. Also, interactive maps have been prepared for citizens.

In the Leninsky District, rotational power outages have been introduced. The addresses where electricity will be cut off are being updated.

Queues are forming at assistance points for boiling water and charging.
