Pulkovo-Pushkin run restricts traffic in St. Petersburg

An athletic run dedicated to the complete liberation of Leningrad from the blockade has led to temporary traffic restrictions in the southern part of the city. Participants have already started, and drivers are expressing dissatisfaction.

The athletic run commemorating the liberation of Leningrad from blockade led to road closures in St. Petersburg.
In St. Petersburg on February 1, the traditional athletic run «Pulkovo – Pushkin» took place, timed to the anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the fascist blockade. The event caused temporary traffic restrictions in the southern districts of the city.

According to information from the transport committee, for the 55th run from 07:00 to 13:00, traffic was narrowed on Pulkovskoye Highway near house 411 towards Peterburgskoye Highway. For the same period, traffic was completely closed on the following sections:
  • Peterburgskoye Highway from house No. 29 to Detskoselsky Boulevard;
  • Saritskaya Street from Obraztsovaya Street to Peterburgskoye Highway;
  • Kokkolevskaya Street from Peterburgskoye Highway to Perevedenskaya Street;
  • exits from Peterburgskoye Highway at the intersection with Saritskaya Street.
In addition, from 00:00 to 23:59 on February 1, stopping of vehicles was prohibited on these segments:
  • Peterburgskoye Highway from house No. 29 to Detskoselsky Boulevard;
  • Saritskaya Street from Sokolina Street to Peterburgskoye Highway;
  • Kokkolevskaya Street from Peterburgskoye Highway to Perevedenskaya Street;
  • exits from Peterburgskoye Highway at the intersection with Saritskaya Street.
Residents of the Pulkovskoye microdistrict reported that due to the restrictions, two main exits were blocked. «It»s impossible to either leave or enter. Certainly, what is there to say, you can«t talk about any successful trip to work,» wrote one of the local residents named Dmitry.
