As reported by the press service of Rosseti Severo-Zapad (Rosseti North-West), the cause of the outage was a technical failure on an overhead power line. Emergency crews were dispatched to the site immediately after the signal was received. Currently, power engineers are working to restore electricity supply and are simultaneously organizing backup power schemes.

«The Rosseti Severo-Zapad branch in the region has switched to a special emergency mode. Network restoration is complicated by practically zero visibility. Specialists will work until the full elimination of the consequences of the natural elements,» the press service of Rosseti Severo-Zapad reported.

To eliminate the consequences of the accident, 49 emergency crews and 83 units of equipment have been prepared. If necessary, nine diesel generators with a total capacity of 2.3 MW can provide backup power supply to socially significant facilities.

Specialists warn that adverse weather conditions in the region will persist at least until Monday. In connection with this, residents are asked to strictly observe safety rules: do not approach broken wires closer than 8 meters and do not attempt to restore power supply independently.

To report power outages and damage to energy facilities, one can use the round-the-clock free phone number of Rosseti 8 800 220-0-220 or the short number 220.
