The St. Petersburg charity Perspektivy, which supports children and adults with severe forms of disability, has opened registration for a unique volunteer program.
Volunteers will work with charges in various settings: in families, at a children«s home in Pavlovsk, and at psychoneurological residential facilities for adults in St. Petersburg. Their duties include assisting with daily tasks, accompanying on walks and trips, and creating interesting and useful leisure activities. Thanks to such support, parents get a chance to rest, while residents of the facilities get to leave the institution and feel needed.
The organization offers several participation formats:
- flexible (S)
- moderate (M)
- summer (L)
- exclusive (XL)
“The long-standing motto of this program, which in 2026, like the organization itself, turns 30, is: «Change their lives and your own.» Indeed, by improving the lives of special children and adults, coloring their everyday routines in rich and varied hues, a volunteer also fills their own life with daily discoveries and important meaning,” Perspektivy explained.
For the comfort of participants, the organizers provide comprehensive support, starting with preparatory online seminars. Not only St. Petersburg residents can join, but also volunteers from other regions — they will be provided with a room in a special apartment and the opportunity to immerse themselves in the life of the city on the Neva.
