Over 50 buildings in Moscow District left without heating

A pipeline failure in the Moscow District of St. Petersburg has cut off heating for 64 residential buildings. Repair work is scheduled to be completed by 11 a.m. on January 29.

An accident on a district heating main in the Moscow District of St. Petersburg has resulted in the heating being shut off in 64 apartment buildings.

The damage was found on an 80-centimeter (31.5-inch) diameter pipeline located at 73/1 Basseinaya Street. By 6 p.m. on January 28, crews had removed the damaged section and begun installing a new one.

The repair work will take 24 hours and is planned for completion by 11 a.m. on January 29. Hot water supply to the buildings remains unaffected.

Residents were notified in advance of the temporary shutdown through their management companies. The duration of the work is limited by current regulations.
