New Year's tree removed from Palace Square
The 30-meter main New Year's tree of St. Petersburg was dismantled after the holidays. Its trunk was sawn, and parts of the tree were sent for further processing.

The process of its removal was recorded by a photographer on January 30, when the trunk was already sawn and prepared for shipment.
Dismantling work began on January 28 with the removal of garlands and decorations.
By the evening of the next day, the 30-meter tree had completely disappeared from the city«s main square, and on the night of January 30, they began sawing the trunk.
The branches and needles of the spruce will be recycled into sawdust.
After drying, decorative clocks and prizes for awarding the winners of the Children«s Drawing and Christmas Tree Ornament Competition will be made from the trunk.
