New base stations have been launched in the Shalym microdistrict and the Belkovo urban recreation area in Tashtagol, Kemerovo Region. Both residents and visitors to the city will be able to notice the changes.

Tashtagol is a small town in the heart of Mountain Shoria, known as a center for winter sports. Conditions have been created here for living, recreation, sports, and tourism. Hiking routes to the main natural attractions of the region start from here: Mount Zelenaya, the Camel rock formations, and the Silver Springs. Travelers can choose ethno-routes with visits to private museums to learn about the culture of the Shor people, or go to ore mining sites, combining taiga walks with the study of industrial heritage.

The telecom facility installed near the sanatorium has also improved LTE network coverage in the park and on the beach at Belkovo, in the guest complex and country hotel. Now vacationers can communicate in messengers, use mail and banking applications, upload and send files, watch movies, listen to music, and make calls via VoLTE.

Changes are also noticeable in the Shalym microdistrict, where new telecom equipment has been built. Mobile internet is available here in residential buildings, at public transport stops, and other urban infrastructure facilities. The work was carried out by engineers from Megafon.

«Tashtagol is the main city in the area of the Sheregesh ski resort, which attracts tens of thousands of tourists every year. Over two years, mobile traffic volume here has increased by 73%, and this is directly related to the growing demand for voice communication and internet, which are essential for both leisure and daily activities today. To meet these demands, we are updating the network precisely where the load is increasing. According to our measurements, data transfer speeds at the new base stations reach up to 90 Mbps,» said Olesya Shiryaeva, director of the operator in Kemerovo Region.

Today, Tashtagol attracts visitors not only from Kuzbass but also from other regions. In 2025, tourists from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Sverdlovsk, and Tyumen regions, as well as from the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, visited here.
