Myzinsky Bridge Overpass Set for Full Opening in August 2026

Plans are to resume overpass repair in the spring
Repair of the overpass near Myzinsky Bridge in Nizhny Novgorod may resume in the second half of March. This issue is currently being worked out with the contractor. For now, work is temporarily on hold due to temperature conditions. As the transport department stated, they plan to open traffic on all lanes ahead of schedule— in August 2026.
In mid-January, residents of Nizhny Novgorod complained for several days in a row about traffic jams at the crossing: the road was narrowed due to the overpass repair, and the closed section was covered with snow.
According to the transport department, work is temporarily not being carried out due to a planned technological break because of temperature conditions. It is required by regulations to ensure the work is done properly.
According to the contract terms, all three stages of the major overhaul of the overpass must be completed by December 2026. Two of them have already been carried out.
The major overhaul of the overpass, which runs over Suzdalskaya Street, is being carried out for the first time since its construction— about 45 years have passed since then. The work started at the beginning of last year.
Earlier, we reported that a new dedicated lane for public transport will appear in Nizhny Novgorod. It will be set up on Belinsky Street for trams and buses.
