Murmansk Adds Buses, Asks Residents to Commute Early

The city of Murmansk is deploying extra buses on key routes to help commuters avoid delays, with officials recommending an earlier start to the day.

Tomorrow, additional buses will run on routes No. 1, No. 5, and No. 10 in Murmansk, announced city head Ivan Lebedev. This will allow passengers transferring from trolleybuses to buses to reach their destinations faster.
— I recommend that Murmansk residents living or working in the northern and eastern parts of the city leave for work early. And plan their morning route in advance, — noted Lebedev.

Recall that a state of emergency has been introduced in the Murmansk Region. The Murmansk Region Prosecutor«s Office has already launched an investigation due to mass power outages. A criminal case has been initiated. It was found that the fallen power line supports had been in service for almost 60 years.
Murmansk residents have been told where they can go to warm up and charge electronic devices. And city entrepreneurs are ready to provide food from their main menu at a discount. Also, interactive maps have been prepared for citizens.
In the Leninsky District, rotational power outages have been introduced. The addresses where electricity will be cut off are being updated.
At assistance points for boiling water and charging, queues are forming.
