More than 2.4 thousand people requested support from social service institutions in Tyumen Oblast in 2025. Specialists assisted citizens with restoring documents, applying for disability benefits, and finding temporary accommodation.
“In 2025, 2.4 thousand people sought help. Temporary shelter was provided to 460 people,” the regional department of social development reported.
In 2024, assistance was needed by 2.2 thousand people, of whom about 500 did not have their own housing.
Also in 2025, 36 people in need moved to permanent residence at the ‘Mikhailovsky Special Boarding House for the Elderly and Disabled.’ This is 12 more people than the year before.
In Tyumen, active assistance to the homeless is provided by the mobile service ‘Social Express.’ Its employees patrol the city, offering help with housing and meals. They often respond to requests from residents — for example, if an elderly person in need of support is found in an entrance hall. With consent, such people are taken to a specialized center.
