On Friday, January 23, schools in Magnitogorsk canceled lessons for students from grades 1 to 11 in both the first and second shifts. This was reported by the city administration.

«Due to weather conditions, classes for grades 1-11 in the first and second shifts in municipal educational institutions are being conducted using distance learning technologies,» the message said.

At 5 a.m., the thermometer showed -27 degrees Celsius (-17°F), but due to wind, it felt significantly colder.

The day before, lessons were also canceled due to frost. Recall that in the city, a warming center was opened at the intersection of Zavenyagina and Karl Marx Streets. Volunteers from the search and rescue unit «ALPHA-SPAS» organized patrols on the streets, to help those freezing.
