Lurie changes locks in former Dolina apartment
Polina Lurie, who became the new owner of an apartment previously belonging to Russian folk artist Larisa Dolina, has begun arranging the living space in Khamovniki. Her lawyer Svetlana Sviridenko reported on January 21 that the first thing done was to change the locks on the entrance door. «The locks on the entrance door to the apartment have been changed,» stated the lawyer.
Lurie received the keys to the disputed property from bailiffs on January 19. Earlier, the Supreme Court ruled in her favor, overturning the decision of a lower court that had initially left the apartment with Dolina. According to the lawyer, upon learning of the successful outcome of the case, Polina Lurie shouted for joy.
A representative for Larisa Dolina previously characterized the situation not as a forced eviction, but as voluntary compliance with the court decision. The artist«s lawyer also called the involvement of bailiffs in the process »hype.«
