In the Mineralovodsky district of Stavropol Krai, near Mount Zmeyka, the mobile network signal coverage has been expanded. This was necessary due to high traffic: the mountain«s therapeutic walking paths attract thousands of tourists and nature enthusiasts annually. Previously, some points along the ascent could experience issues with connection stability. The modernization of Megafon»s telecom infrastructure has eliminated these «dead zones».
Now, visitors to the natural park can use navigation services, online guides about local flora and fauna, as well as share photos and videos.
«It is important for us that people stay connected even in the most remote corners of the region and can safely navigate the routes. The network expansion took place not only in natural locations but also in the city of Mineralnye Vody itself, as well as near the international airport, where a second terminal recently opened,» commented Igor Samoylenko, the director of the operator in Stavropol Krai.
Tourists often come to Mount Zmeyka to visit routes for active recreation. The actual age of the mountain is unknown, but it certainly witnessed ancient Turkic peoples, and already in the 19th century, Zmeyka was mentioned by Mikhail Lermontov in the poem «Ismail-Bey» and the novel «A Hero of Our Time».
