Krasnoyarsk Issues Air Pollution Alert Until January 28

An adverse weather conditions (NAP) regime has been declared again in Krasnoyarsk. This time, it will last until 7 p.m. on January 28. The information was reported by the Krasnoyarsk Krai division of Rospotrebnadzor (the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing).

The Central Siberian Administration for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring (UGMS) will introduce the adverse weather conditions regime at 2:00 p.m. on January 26. Rospotrebnadzor, in turn, will check the air quality in Krasnoyarsk.
The last time a NAP regime was declared in the city, Krasnoyarsk residents noticed the smoking chimney of the EVRZ boiler house. It was impossible not to notice the column of black smoke almost in the city center. On January 20 and 21, citizens shared photos and videos of the air-polluting chimney.
The last NAP regime was introduced in Krasnoyarsk on January 16. By the way, that was the coldest January 16 in Krasnoyarsk in the last 20 years. But the frost is not an obstacle, for example, for testing a new wetsuit in the Yenisei River, as two Krasnoyarsk residents did.
