In the Irkutsk Region, the modernization of telecom infrastructure continues. The updates have affected the Nizhneudinsky District — the main part was in Nizhneudinsk, as well as Alzamay and the village of Toni.
Specialists from MegaFon have converted a number of frequencies from the previous generation to the modern standard. In addition, high-frequency LTE bands have been added to the base stations, which affects network capacity and internet speeds. In other words, a larger number of devices can now simultaneously catch the signal and load data.
— We are consistently improving the quality of communication in the cities and towns of the Irkutsk Region. Over the past year, our technical service has built and modernized over 340 stations across the region. These are not just numbers, but real support for the development of territories and the lives of our subscribers, — said Alexey Mikhailov, the MegaFon director in the Irkutsk Region.
The modernization of telecom facilities provides local residents with the ability to call loved ones at any time, make purchases, receive government and banking services, study and work online.
