All students of School No. 49 named after Hero of the Russian Federation Yegor Sekerzhitsky have been switched to remote learning due to the cold in the school«s premises. Several parents of students reported this to a Chita.Ru correspondent on January 28.

A day earlier, parents complained that the classrooms had become cold, some children were missing lessons because of this, and those who came were studying in their outerwear. The education committee then confirmed that elementary school students would be switched to remote learning from January 28. At the same time, the committee sent a letter to TGC-14 demanding that the heating parameters, which had indeed dropped, be brought back to normal.

«Yesterday, the elementary school was switched to remote learning until further notice. Today, the high school was sent home for remote learning. In chats, they write that »the second boiler at TGC has broken down, the temperature in the school has dropped«,» one of the publication«s interlocutors said.

Meanwhile, a voice message from the school«s principal Elena Azbukina is being forwarded in chats, in which she says that TGC-14 is not supplying the required parameters for the heat carrier and that »the temperature in the school is only dropping.« Therefore, it is necessary to notify parents and children about the switch of all students to remote learning.

In a conversation with a Chita.Ru correspondent, one of the school«s employees confirmed that starting today, the entire middle and high school has been switched to remote learning due to the temperature conditions in the premises: »Approximately until Saturday.«

School No. 49 receives heat from TPP-2. At the same time, residents of nearby buildings report to Chita.Ru about decreased temperatures in their apartments, for example on Krasnoyarskaya Street.

The editorial office of Chita.Ru requested a comment on the situation at the school from the city«s education committee and from TGC-14. At the time of publication, no prompt responses had been received. Also, information about the overall situation at TPP-2 has been requested from the Ministry of Housing and Communal Services of Zabaykalsky Krai (through the government»s press service).

In addition, on January 28, the prosecutor«s office of Zabaykalsky Krai announced on its Telegram channel that an inspection has been launched due to reports of decreased temperature conditions at School No. 49 in Chita.
