A technological failure on the central water main has left half of Myshkin without cold water, the local water utility reported.

Half of Myshkin in the Yaroslavl Region was left without cold water on 23 January. According to the State Unitary Enterprise of the Yaroslavl Region «Yaroblvodokanal» (SUE «Yaroblvodokanal»), the cause of the outage was a technological failure on the central water main.
The prosecutor«s office stated that the cause was an accident on the water supply networks in the Yaroslavl Region.

«Specialists are working to restore the normal functioning of the central water supply, ensuring the swift normalization of the situation and the resumption of stable water supply to all city residents,» — commented «Yaroblvodokanal».
The district prosecutor«s office has begun an inspection to assess compliance with water supply laws after the outage.

The exact time for the full restoration of the system is currently unknown. Meanwhile, the prosecutor«s office of the Myshkinsky District has begun an inspection of the situation.
«The inspection will assess compliance with the legislation on uninterrupted water supply to the population, including the observance of deadlines for eliminating emergency situations and the organization of water delivery,» — explained the agency.
District Prosecutor Dmitry Bubnov went to the scene of the accident. If grounds are found, prosecutorial response measures will be taken.
