Half of Myshkin Left Without Cold Water Due to Pipeline Failure

On January 23, half of the residents of the city of Myshkin in Yaroslavl Oblast were left without cold water supply. The shutdown occurred due to a technical failure on a main water pipeline, as reported by the state-owned enterprise GP YAO «Yaroblvodokanal» (Yaroslavl Regional Water Utility).

The company stated: «Specialists are carrying out work to restore the normal operation of the central water supply system, ensuring the fastest possible normalization of the situation and the resumption of stable water supply for all residents of the city.» The exact time when the water supply will be fully restored has not yet been announced.

The prosecutor«s office of Myshkinsky District has initiated an inspection into the incident. The department explained: »During the inspection, an assessment will be made of compliance with legal requirements for the uninterrupted water supply to the population, including issues of adherence to deadlines for eliminating emergencies and organizing water delivery.«
District Prosecutor Dmitry Bubnov went to the site of the accident. If violations are identified, the prosecutor«s office will take appropriate measures.
