The fundraising for the treatment of ten-year-old Yaroslavl resident Sergey Levchenko has been completed. This was announced by his mother Tatyana, and the information is also published on the website of the charity fund «Rusfond,» which organized the fundraising.
The boy was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor — a germinoma. The funds raised, slightly over 4 million rubles (approximately $40,000 at current rates), were intended for proton therapy — a method that doctors deemed most suitable.
As Tatyana explained, the fundraising was closed because Seryozha«s current health condition does not allow immediate radiation therapy. To stabilize his condition and reduce the tumor, he has been prescribed the first block of chemotherapy. The funds raised by the fund are reserved and will be directed to proton therapy as soon as it becomes possible.
The boy«s mother expressed gratitude to all who helped: »A huge thank you and a deep bow to all the people who responded so quickly and came to the aid.«
The first symptoms of the disease appeared in Seryozha in October 2025. He suddenly started vomiting and his strength sharply declined. Initially, doctors suspected an intestinal infection, but subsequent examinations revealed a tumor.
