FSB Captain's Arrest in Moscow Linked to Prosecutor's Case

Captain 1st Rank Sergey Kasazhikov was detained in Moscow on suspicion of fraud. According to Fontanka, the investigation is linked to the criminal case against deputy military prosecutor of the St. Petersburg garrison Ilshaat Kupkenov.
The 235th Garrison Military Court of Moscow sanctioned the arrest on the eve of January 30. Information about the court hearing was published on the court«s official website.
Sergey Kasazhikov has already been dismissed from the Department of Military Counterintelligence of the FSB (Federal Security Service). The criminal case on fraud charges was initiated on January 27.
The 46-year-old officer is a native of Leningrad and holds the rank of captain 1st rank.
Preliminarily, the circumstances of Kasazhikov«s case are similar to those in Kupkenov»s case. Meanwhile, the deputy military prosecutor has been charged with bribery and abuse of authority.
