Explosion Near Court and Accidents in Don Region on January 29

On January 29, a series of incidents occurred in the Rostov region, including utility accidents and an incident with a car explosion near a courthouse.

On the night of January 29, unmanned aerial vehicles attacked Kamensk-Shakhtinsky and Kamensky district. All aerial targets were destroyed, and information about ground consequences was not specified.

In the morning of the same day, an explosion occurred near the Pervomaysky District Court, resulting in a parked car catching fire. The investigation established that the cause of the fire was a cigarette lit by the driver.

In Volgodonsk, due to an accident on the heating networks that occurred on the evening of January 28, 80 apartment buildings were left without heating. Simultaneously, in four districts of Rostov-on-Don, water pipe bursts occurred, leading to water supply shutdowns.

Former head of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate (GIBDD, traffic police) for the Rostov region, Oleg Bogun, was appointed as acting deputy chief of police – head of the traffic police department of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Krasnodar Territory. According to a source, he himself «begged» for this position.

Police completed the investigation of a criminal case against the company «CityStroy,» which deceived hundreds of residents of the region during the construction of private houses. Three defendants have been charged with fraud, one of them is evading justice.

The Fourth Cassation Court of General Jurisdiction in Krasnodar rejected the complaint of a group of Rostov residents challenging the construction of the Western Chord through the Kumzhenskaya Grove. The plaintiffs intend to appeal the decision in the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation.

A Rostov schoolboy who attacked the daughter of a deceased participant in the special military operation was placed on preventive registration. His parents were brought to administrative responsibility. The mother of the injured girl reported that she is already feeling normal.

Actor Sergei Zhigunov, a native of Rostov-on-Don, joined an open appeal by graduates of the Moscow Art Theatre School-Studio, speaking out against the appointment of director Konstantin Bogomolov as acting rector of this educational institution.
