Murmansk residents have noticed that not all homes have electricity, even if they are very close. MOESK (Moscow United Electric Grid Company) explained: this is necessary to redistribute power and first ensure electricity for socially significant institutions.

«Energy workers are making every necessary effort to minimize negative consequences for residents. Boiler houses, pumping stations, and hospitals are powered. Unfortunately, residential buildings have to be disconnected to prevent overloading the remaining line, to avoid being left without power altogether. We are doing this together with Rosseti (Russian Grids), which is providing us with backup capacity, and we are redistributing it among Murmansk residents. I am confident that together we will overcome this unpleasant situation and soon fully enjoy the benefits of civilization again,» emphasized Alexei Lebedev, chief engineer at MOESK.

Recall that in the Murmansk region, a state of increased readiness was introduced due to power outages. This decision was made at a meeting of the operational headquarters. Street lighting in Murmansk was temporarily turned off.

The press service of Rosseti Severo-Zapad reported that the cause of the outage was a technological failure on an overhead power line. Later it became known that 5 supports collapsed. Trolleybuses in Murmansk have changed their routes.

The prosecutor«s office of the Murmansk region has already launched an investigation into the mass power outages. A criminal case has been initiated, and in the Leninsky district, rotational power outages have been introduced.

Murmansk residents were told where they can go to warm up and charge electronic devices. And city entrepreneurs are ready to provide food from their main menu at a discount.

The consequences of the accident continue to be eliminated; Rosseti Severo-Zapad brought additional snowmobiles and all-terrain vehicles to the scene. Meanwhile, communication disruptions are being observed in the region. Large city hotels have already joined in helping residents: they can charge devices and eat at a discount.

We also reported about Murmansk stores that are closed or operating with interruptions. And also, in Murmansk, field kitchens with phone charging are being opened. Regional authorities provided a list of supermarkets operating in Murmansk.
