Emergency sirens testing in Omsk set for March 4 and October 7
In Omsk, the emergency siren systems are tested every year in the spring and autumn seasons.
Omsk city hall announced when emergency alert systems will be tested in 2026. Sirens will sound in Omsk on March 4 and October 7. The exact time will be known several weeks before the testing. This information appeared in a document published on the city administration«s website.
Last year, the testing took place on March 5 and October 1. However, on both days, not all Omsk residents heard the sirens. They wailed in the city center, but not everywhere: in Dzerzhinsky Square it was quite loud, but near the «Tourist» bus stop, there was silence. Sirens were not heard on 10 Years of October Street either.
Meanwhile, in March, the press service of the Omsk Region Ministry of Regional Security explained to NGS55.RU that sirens were turned on in every district. They might not have been heard due to the minimal volume set because it was just a test.
