Drone-damaged Kazan residential complex to be restored this year

The Lazurnye Nebesa residential complex on Kamaleyev Avenue in Kazan, damaged by a drone attack, will begin to be restored this year. This was announced by Marat Samigulin, head of the capital construction and reconstruction department of the executive committee, at a business Monday meeting.
«Under an agreement with the republic«s Ministry of Construction, repair and restoration work will be carried out at apartment building No. 1 on Albert Kamaleyev Avenue. The complications of this work lie in the need to dismantle the building»s facade, which serves as the external wall of residential apartments,» Samigulin said.
Specific start and end dates for the repair and restoration work were not announced. The cost of replacing the damaged facade is estimated at 495 million rubles (approximately $5.4 million at current rates).
In the summer of 2025, it became known that the residential complex was planned to be restored no later than August 31, 2026. At that time, the draft resolution of the cabinet of ministers was undergoing anti-corruption review.
Recall that on December 21, 2024, Kazan was attacked by eight drones. Six drones targeted residential buildings, damaging the Lazurnye Nebesa complex in the Sovetsky district, a building on Klara Tsetkin Street in the Kirovsky district, and the Manhattan residential complex in the Privolzhsky district.
