Don Region: Accident, Cold, Parking Changes January 21

On January 21, a series of events occurred in the Don region, including a water supply accident and the introduction of new parking tariffs.

In the morning, due to an accident on a pressure sewer, Novoshakhtinsk was left without water. Earlier, Gukovo faced a similar problem.

Residents of Rostov complained of cold in their apartments, where temperatures often do not rise above 17–18°C (63–64°F). Authorities recommend contacting management companies.

Maximum rates for paid parking in the oblast have been set. For vehicles of categories A and M, the price will be 50 rubles per hour (about $0.60 at current rates), for category B — 100 rubles (about $1.20), and for others — 195 rubles (about $2.30). Tariffs will be reviewed annually.

On the night of January 21, drones attacked Taganrog, Kamensky, and Tarasovsky districts. There is no information on casualties or damage.

The region plans to restore three state forest belts, created more than 50 years ago under Stalin«s plan for the transformation of nature.

The trolleybus network in Rostov will be preserved and possibly restored if funding is available. There are no plans to liquidate it.

The cafe «Lyusya Vparke», which sparked a dispute around Pleven Park, has closed for winter holidays. The concessionaire does not yet know when the establishment will reopen.

Don farmers, affected by the drought in 2025, faced harsh conditions when extending loans. The issue will be taken up by the Ministry of Agriculture.
