In Tyumen, near the TsUM building, work has begun to dismantle the high-rise long-term construction. Construction of this project started in 2018, but in the summer of 2020, an annex to the department store was partially demolished. A year later, work resumed with plans to complete construction in three years, but by 2024, it had completely stopped.

Heavy machinery is being deployed to continue the breakdown of the building«s skeletal framework on site.

“The long-term construction near TsUM is being demolished! Equipment was working today,” a reader reported to the publication.

According to the company Sibintel, the current owner of the building, the project will be completely revised. Vladimir Shevchik, head of Domina-T LLC, who acquired the property, decided to change the approach to its implementation because the old project did not meet modern requirements of investors and partners from hotel chains.

The cost of the new project has not been disclosed yet. The hotel«s opening is planned for 2028.

The idea for construction on this site arose back in 2006, but the project was not implemented then. In January 2018, at public hearings, an increase in the number of floors from three to 25 was discussed. In 2024, the unfinished building changed owners, after which a decision was made to demolish it and build a modern multifunctional complex.
